All war between India and Pakistan

India and Pakistan have been involved in several wars since their independence from British rule in 1947. Here's a brief overview of the major Indo-Pak wars:

  1. First Indo-Pak War (1947-48): The first war between India and Pakistan began soon after their independence from British rule in 1947. The conflict was sparked by the dispute over the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan sent its forces to support the rebels in Kashmir, leading to a full-scale war between the two countries. The war ended with the UN-mediated ceasefire, with Pakistan controlling the western part of Jammu and Kashmir, and India controlling the eastern part.

  2. Second Indo-Pak War (1965): The second war between India and Pakistan broke out in 1965, again over the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. The war lasted for over a month, with both countries suffering heavy casualties. The war ended with a UN-mandated ceasefire, and no significant territorial gains for either side.

  3. Third Indo-Pak War (1971): The third war between India and Pakistan was fought in 1971, mainly over the independence of East Pakistan, which later became Bangladesh. India supported the Bangladeshi independence movement and launched an offensive against Pakistan in the east. The war ended with the surrender of Pakistan's forces in East Pakistan, leading to the birth of Bangladesh.

  4. Kargil War (1999): The Kargil war was fought between India and Pakistan in 1999, over the issue of infiltration of Pakistani soldiers and militants into Indian-controlled territory in Kargil. The war lasted for around three months and saw heavy casualties on both sides. The war ended with India regaining control of the disputed area.

Apart from these major wars, India and Pakistan have also been involved in several other conflicts, including the Siachen conflict, the Operation Brasstacks, and the 2008 Mumbai attacks, among others. It is important to note that violence and hostility are never the answer, and peaceful solutions should always be pursued.
